Reina, a close friend of the main character, takes in the orphaned protagonist following a car accident. Ethan, her 18-year-old husband, kicks the protagonist out of his bedroom after finding marijuana. Reina discovers the main character in a hospital after a near-fatal overdose and a subsequent 7-year descent into depression from using drugs. At rehab, the main character realizes he isn’t the only one in need of a second chance.
